On Tuesday, September 10th, The NYCFTC joined forces with Magnifeco.com to host the 3rd edition of Fair Fashion Runway at the Wix Lounge. Featured designers were ReciclaGEM by Tamara Leacock and LEOTA NewYork. There was a fair-trade marketplace, featuring jewelry and accessory designers, wine, tea, and chocolate. All designers featured are members of the NYCFTC.

Hair artist Char Humphreys created breathtaking styles to match both designer's looks. And make-up artists Lacey Elliot and Sarah Patch worked their magic with make-up donated by The Body Shop, which sponsored the event. "Fair Trade is simply the way the world should be, which is why initiatives like the New York City Fair Trade Coalition are vital,” states Jennifer Barckley, Director, Brand Communications & Values at The Body Shop. “Over twenty-five years ago, The Body Shop pioneered the first of its kind program in the beauty industry called Community Fair Trade. Today, it supports over 25 communities around the world—from Mexico to Nepal—and provides consumers with the highest quality ingredients and products for a truly feel good experience.”
In the marketplace, there were refreshments that included: red and white wine from Stellar Organics, chocolate from Divine Chocolate, and tea from Runa Tea. Jewelry was available for purchase from ShopSoko, by Natalie Frigo, Senhoa, and Kicheko. Shoes from Bhava shoes were there, as well as bags and headbands from A.Bernadette. And who can forget the stationary from Mr. Ellie Pooh?
